The National Association of Realtors is all over this and working to get it repealed, -- before it takes effect. But, I am very pleased we aren't the only ones who know about this ploy to steal billions from unsuspecting homeowners. How many realtors do you think will vote Democratic in 2012?
Did you know that if you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8% sales tax on it? That's $3,800 on a $100,000 home, etc. When did this happen? It's in the health care bill, -- and it goes into effect in 2013. Why 2013? Could it be so that it doesn’t come to light until after the 2012 elections? So, this is ‘change you can believe in’?
Under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% sales tax.
If you sell a $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax. This bill is set to screw the retiring generation, -- who often downsize their homes. Does this make your November, 2012 vote more important?
Oh, you weren't aware that this was in the ObamaCare bill? Guess what; you aren't alone! There are more than a few members of Congress that weren't aware of it either.

Oh my goodness!!! I had no idea this was in that bill, I will definitely be voting!
There are a BILLION things in that bill that are made to screw over the taxpayers. Why do we think the lawmakers have exempt themselves from it?!?!? Ugh. I'm soooo frustrated with our political system, it's just not funny. THANK YOU for posting some political speak that will hopefully influence people to think for themselves this election year!
It is my understanding that a family has to make over $250000 for this to apply. I posted your link and was SHOCKED by the statements that people didn't care because it didn't apply to THEM! I don't see how this would ever help a struggling housing market.
If you are an individual making over $250k in a year than yes you ought to be paying more in taxes and if you are buying and selling real estate you are obviously in a good position financially to do so.

And I would STRONGLY disagree that if you are making over 250K you have lots of money and can afford to pay more- that's the kind of thinking that got us in this mess in the first place. Many of those people are small business owners and are already paying more than their fair share of our country's taxes. If we continue to look to them to support the rest of us, this country will likely fail. Let's get out of this "dependent" attitude!!!
Thanks for the added info. I read it nearly through and it surely sounds like a complicated mess!! That health bill has so many things hidden in it--no one who voted on it even read the thing through!!
Also, did you know that Muslims and certain other religions are excempt from the manditory insurance stuff?? That gripes me as much as anything.
I'm waiting for the cutbacks in Medicare--its already so bare-boned, I'm not sure how much more than can cut.

There are almost 50% of Americans pay no Federal Income Tax, thus they don't care what happens to those that are paying the bill. An interesting note is that there will be 16,000 more IRS Agents to impliment and take care of Obama's Health care bill. If we knew what all was in that bill we really would be scared!! I agree, Jenny. What so many people don't realize is that those of us that make more money are ALREADY footing the bill for so much more than those who make less....they just don't realize. And you are SO right about small business owners...it's getting to be next to impossible for a person to start up a business, and then where would a lot of people be? Without employment. Paying even LESS into the government that they will then be asking for a handout from.
