As I reflect on the past 21 years, I am reminded of that old Timex commercial....
Takes a lickin', keeps on tickin' ;D
That about sums it up!
Yep, we've had our ups and downs, but we've beaten the odds, and we're still here able to smile after all these years :D
And I have a feeling this year is destined to take us on the biggest roller coaster of our married lives to date. Yes, even BIGGER than Zack losing his job last year and us relocating to Georgia! And no, I'm still not pregnant, but you'll be the first to know when I am ;D
Anyway, in honor of our 21 years, we were more than happy to leave all our little ones at home with our big ones and head over to the quaint downtown area of Roswell for dinner. There was a restaurant there I was excited to try, and when you see the pictures, you'll understand why!
Isn't that awesome?! The main part of the dining area is out on the front lawn of the restaurant! The restaurant itself is in an old house, as are many of the other shops and restaurants on the street. We chose to sit at a table on the lawn....
A little easier to eat ;D I loved all the colorful blankets on the backs of the chairs! What a great way to add color and interest to the setting!
Dinner was great, dessert was fabulous!! Zack had the carrot cake.....best ever! Mimi (my dear friend), you have to come and try it ;D
I had the Napa Valley Cheesecake......need I say more?!
But the best part was the wonderful relaxed atmosphere and good company. There's nothing better than uninterrupted quality time with your true love!
Here's to 21 more :D

Congrats on 21 years! That is awesome. :)
I have read your blog for quite a while, but never have commented. I had a question for you, though. :) We have 6 kids, stretched out in ages like yours...18-10 1/2 mos. we have the baby in the room with us, and our 18 yr old has his own room (he's staying home to go to CC this year). Our 15 & 12 yr old daughters share a room and our 9yr old son and 3 1/2 yr old daughter share. Looking for suggestions on room set up...how long do you usually keep your babies in with you? We don't really have funds to add on/do major changes, but I'm trying to work something out. Just wanted to pick the brain of another mom with a large family spaced out in ages. :)
Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
Laura from FL
Hey Laura- we have done so many different things I don't know where to start! Every time we move, we have to reconfigure ;D We are so incredibly blessed to be able to have 7 bedrooms in this house, but that's not always been the case. Currently, the 4 oldest have their own rooms, and then we have our 9 & 6yr olds in a room and our 4 yr old in a room that he will eventually share with our youngest once he's out of his crib. We don't have a set time for keeping a baby in our room, and it's been different with EVERY one of them! The main reason Caleb is still in our room is because we had the space for the crib and he usually ends up in our bed in the middle of the night, so it's just more convenient to have him close. It sounds to me like you've got a good system so far. Have you thought about putting your 9 yr old in with his big brother and then adding the baby in with your 3 yr old? That would probably be my solution as your oldest is probably not around much these days :D Good luck!!
