State of Affairs

It seems these days no matter how many times I try to type up a post, I inevitably end up doing one big post with all the week's events and sticking an innocuous title on it like state of affairs! I just can't seem to keep up! It reminds me of the weeks after Caleb was born ;-)

And speaking of Caleb......

Yeah, he's a bit sick.

So sick, in fact, that his eyes were glued shut with eye boogers after he slept, and, when he was awake, they were constantly oozing yellow, snotty-looking puss.....

I couldn't wipe them fast enough!

I knew he had a cold.

I knew he had a fever. Unfortunately, I assumed the fever was due to the shots he had been given the week before at his 0ne-year well-baby, and I didn't connect the fever to the cold. After he had looked like this for 2+ days, it finally occurred to me to call the doctor and check to make sure the fever was related to the vaccines.

It wasn't.

We ended up at urgent care that night.... double-ear infection + infected eyes!

Oral antibiotics and eyedrops were the doc's orders- poor baby! And he wasn't the only one.....

Yep, it's spreading through the whole gang, leaving no child left untouched. We have everything from sore throats to boogery eyes and coughs to ear aches! Yay?

On a good note, Sophie's girls' JV lacrosse team finished their season this week with an undefeated record, even winning their championship game on Saturday! Go Titans!!

And we were honored to attend an award ceremony where Sophie received a certificate for making Principal's Honor Roll this year (3.8 GPA or higher)!!

Unfortunately, we got some bad news about Allie. She was diagnosed with PCOS. This, in addition to her endometriosis and migraines, was NOT welcome news. I do plan to do a post about the whole situation soon, but since it's graduation week, I just want to get through the next few days.... then I can re-focus on our next steps for Allie. I will blog about it all.....just not now.

This past week, I also said goodbye to something I've had for a very long time. Something I really thought I was ready to give up, but, I'm not gonna lie, I tear up when I think about it being gone.

Yep, my old Suburban is gone, replaced by this.....

My new Chevy Traverse! The first brand-new car we've bought since we purchased the suburban over 8 years ago! It literally had 30 miles on it when we drove it off the lot!

Still with 8 seats, but not nearly as roomy as the old suburban......

But it gets almost twice as many miles to the gallon, and with 3 driving teenagers and a passenger van, it just makes more sense for me to run around with the boys in!

I still have to admit...it's gonna take some getting used to :D

Ok, so now we're caught up ;-) But it looks like it's gonna be another one of those weeks again as we gear up for graduation..... Allie is in her final week of high school, with graduation this coming Sunday! And I have so much to do in preparation for the arrival of her grandparents and the grad party that we are hosting this Saturday at our house!

Guess I better go to bed so I can get some rest!

Let the countdown begin......

Allie's lucky, even if she doesn't think so... But she is lucky she got her PCOS dx now. I didn't get mine until I experienced a year of IF, and a 40lb weight-gain. I have IR PCOS. Please let me know if you have any questions from a fellow sufferer.

Bella is also sick this week, but no infected eyes or ears. I can't believe how big Caleb is. It seems like he was just born. Of course Bella will be one in just over a month.

Praying for Allie!
