Back where they belong!

One of the other things keeping me busy last week was a little re-decorating. After we added the addition on to our house last spring, I was so busy with a newborn that I never did get my pictures re-hung! But finally, only one year later, I'm done! With Allie's graduation coming up next month and family coming to visit, I felt the need to finish my house :D

I started with the office, where I not only added some pictures, I also added a new piece of furniture and moved some things around. Here's the picture wall....

I originally put the kids' table & chair set in the room when we were using it for homeschool, but since Noah & Matthew are now in private school and Josh will be joining them next year, it didn't make sense to have the front room of our home looking like a classroom. However, the kids really enjoy sitting in there to color and read, and it's a great spot for them on the main level, so I left their furniture.....

The new piece I found last week at Hobby Lobby- not only on sale, but also on clearance.... 30% off the sale price ;-) And I'm a sucker for a great deal! I really liked it because it's one of those fun pieces of furniture! The kids all thought it was old and asked me if I was going to repaint it... ha!

The green on the drawers goes nicely with the green paint on the walls- doesn't match, but it compliments!

And here's the desk area of the office...

The second room that I added pictures to is part of the new addition- the space off our kitchen/hearth room.... I've been calling it the sunroom since it has so many windows!

This next picture is dark, but you can get the feel of the room....

And finally, I added pictures back to the walls in the basement. The addition in the basement consisted of adding a room for Emily and changing the living space a bit. I used to have walls of family pictures down there, but this time I was a little more selective with what I put back up.

This is a new wall- the basement used to be one huge space with a bedroom at the end that Allie & Sophie share. Now this wall separates the space and part of Emily's room is on the other side!

Obviously, I need to go back down there and put some sticky stuff on the backs of all the pictures...they're a little crooked ;-)
This is a second wall of pictures! I love having our family photos all around the house, and I am trying hard to do it as tastefully as possible :D

This is the living area of the basement- I love the way the space turned out now that it's not one huge room anymore!

The wall separating Em's room has a nice angle before it turns into a hallway- perfect for a cross- which I now see is not centered.... guess I have some more work to do :D

Oh well, I'm just happy my pictures are finally back up where they belong :D
