Much...

This week I was reminded of the verse to whom much is given, much is required. In the past, I have always thought of that phrase as referring to someone with great wealth or fame. Now, however, I have come to realize that there is actually much more to the idea then I ever knew. When you look at this picture, what do you see? Do you see much? Of course, Zack and I have been blessed, or gifted, with much. I mean, how many people have 7 children? 7 children?!?!
I think sometimes we forget what an amazing gift we have been given. Sometimes, we just get caught up in the day to day, the mundane, the chores, the noise, the chaos..... Sometimes, we get overwhelmed by the expense, the burden, the exhaustion, the frustration.... to whom much has been given, much is required....
Sometimes, we forget that we have been chosen by God , trusted by Him to be responsible for these 7 little lives. What an honor! And we are honored and excited and thrilled to be a part of this miracle we call our family. Yes, we have been given much... and we need to remember that, because we have been so blessed, we are required to do much. God did not give these children to us because He thought we would sit around and complain about the burden. And He didn't give them to us because we needed to be punished! No, He gave them to us because He knew we would stand up to the challenge. He knew that, with His help, we would accept the challenge, even if it is with some occassional complaining! It's not easy being the parents of 7 children, but it is most certainly a blessing.

Right on! Seriously...these 7 blessings are yours and no one can say otherwise. Yes there may be challenges, but like any family, there are challenges and bumps along the way. Like Katie said, you go girl!

I needed to hear that. Have you been in my house listening?
After a morning like today where my 1 year old drew on the cabinets, did something to make the kitchen floor wet? still not sure how, and poured my tea out in my bed I needed to be gently reminded that he is in fact a blessing.
